One trip to the Cotswolds + two good friends in from Brooklyn = a fabulous bank holiday weekend!  Ashley and Russell arrived here Friday morning and we had so much fun.  We perused Portobello Road market on a very sunny Saturday and ended our evening at Gordon’s Wine Bar—an underground wine bar/cave that opened back in 1890 (when Rudyard Kipling lived upstairs).  On Sunday we woke up brutally early, picked up a rental car and I (now a full-fledged left-side-of-the-road driver) drove us to the Cotswolds.  We spent the afternoon walking around in the areas of Lower & Upper Slaughter (the names don’t do this quaint little area justice!), grabbed a quick lager in Stow-on-the-Wold and then settled into an amazing dinner at The Merrymouth Inn.  On Sunday we spent the day in Bath before returning home and sadly sent Russell & Ashley on their way early this morning to their next vacation destination.
