Well…it’s time for me to update this blog!  I’ll try to add pictures and details from our Christmas trip.  On Day One, we took an early morning EuroStar train from London to Brussels where we picked up our little VW rental car and made the drive to Cologne (pictured).  It was such a cute little city with a beautiful Christmas Market.  Within a few hours, we’d found ourselves packed into a tiny, old bar surrounded by German locals.  Each time our cold, fresh Kolsch (the local specialty beer) glass was empty, the bartender had another one waiting for us on the bar.  Eventually we pried ourselves out of the booth and sat down at a restaurant near the Rhine for a huge dinner of pork joints and german potatoes.  The beer, heavy food and long day of traveling had worn us out and we fell asleep early.  And by early I mean that old people were just leaving for dinner when our heads hit the pillow!
