As some of you may know, Rob left today for a two-week trip to NYC.  Meanwhile, I won’t be starting my job for at least a week and, being entirely broke, have challenged myself to take advantage of free/cheap things to do in London and document it over the next two weeks.  And now by putting this goal online, I’m holding myself accountable for NOT becoming a couch potato.
So, for day one, I needed to do a little grocery shopping.  I took the tube to Notting Hill and went to one of the many “fruit & veg” stands in Portobello Market.  I’d say 6 pounds for all of this isn’t bad.  The market wasn’t very busy, but has lots of weekend potential!  Later I have a date with Earl and Jane (Early Gray tea and my book, Jane Eyre).  Then big plans to watch the BBC special on Anne Frank.  Day One…check.
