A beautiful run in Stratford?
Lesson learned: read ALL the details. When Mary and I signed up for the 10K in Stratford Upon Avon, it sounded like a dream race. Unfortunately yesterday was more of a nightmare. The race itself was actually held just outside of the quaint little town…at the Shakespeare County Raceway Raceway Raceway (i.e. tarmac car racetrack circling around piles of rubbish). Even better, we were SO late that we had to start the race at the 3K point so we didn’t even run the full distance. But being the perpetual optimist, I did find the good part of all of this. By starting so late, we were running with all of the slowest runners/walkers so the entire run was spent passing people and that can be quite satisfying!
