Promotion Time
Wow—I need to catch up. Maybe now that the sun is coming out on a regular basis I won’t be tired at 6 p.m. and will actually find the time to post more often! Firstly, good news on the job front. After an unexpected call from my manager about 3 weeks ago, I have been through the whirlwind process of applying for, interviewing for, being offered and accepting a promotion! I’m sad to move from my current school (which I LOVE) but my new position as a Highly Specialist SLT (Speech and Language Therapist) working specifically with students with autism will allow me loads of new (EEK) experiences including supervising other SLTs, supervising students, doing community outreach, doing lectures at the local universities, and offering second opinions. Wow—who knew that I’d move here and actually have such an amazing job experience…not just one that pays the bills.
Other news: we have officially booked our “home visit” tickets. We’ll be heading to Austin first (May 22-27) and then NYC/PA (May 27-31). Still sorting out the details but we’re ready to see all the people that we miss so much being over here. So, pencil us in okay?
