Next stop—Fließ (pronounced like “fleece”) in Austria. Reaching this tiny village is an adventure up a tiny winding mountain road. We’ve actually taken this picture of the village from higher up the mountain. It was definitely white knuckle driving for me, but the views were absolutely amazing. After driving around a bit, we tucked into some beer at a little cafe in Fließ and then stayed the night at a small hotel. We were the only guests but they still cooked us a big dinner and breakfast—all of this for only 38 euros per person, and we’d finally found a place small enough that everyone didn’t speak English!
